ACQUISITION: Healthcare Realty acquires Carolinas medical outpatient portfolio from Hammes for $56M. The portfolio includes two fully leased properties in Summerville, S.C., totaling approximately 120,000 SF, plus an entitled development site at 5936 Farrington Road in Chapel Hill, N.C. The assets include the nearly 100,000 SF Summerville Medical Campus, anchored by Medical University of South Carolina, and the 22,261 SF Charleston Surgery Center, fully leased to a joint venture led by SCA Health. Newmark’s Ben Appel, Jay Miele, Justin Shepherd, John Nero, Michael Greeley and Ron Ott advised Hammes.

DEVELOPMENT: Buena Vista Regional Medical Center (BVRMC) continues construction of a new MOB and pharmacy. The approximately 30,000 SF facility on the BVRMC campus will bring UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine providers together in one location and include a new BVRMC Pharmacy with a drive-up window. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2027.

ACQUISITION: Montecito Medical acquires Orthopaedic Associates of Evansville portfolio in Indiana. The portfolio includes two medical office buildings totaling 42,950 SF in Newburgh and Evansville, Indiana. SummitHRE facilitated the sale to Montecito Medical. Ben Meir, David Meir, Tony Shallcross, and Max Greene were involved in the transaction.
