ACQUISITION: Healthcare Realty acquires Carolinas Medical Outpatient Collection from Hammes for $56M. The 120,000 SF portfolio includes two fully leased medical outpatient assets in Summerville, South Carolina, and a fully entitled development site in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Summerville properties include the nearly 100,000 SF Summerville Medical Campus, anchored by Medical University of South Carolina, and the 22,261 SF Charleston Surgery Center, fully leased to a joint venture led by SCA Health. Newmark’s Ben Appel, Jay Miele, Justin Shepherd, John Nero, Michael Greeley, and Ron Ott advised Hammes in the transaction.

DISPOSITION: Mediplex Property Group completes sale of three-property medical office portfolio in suburban Philadelphia. The approximately 50,000 SF portfolio includes Mediplex Abington, Mediplex East Norriton and Mediplex Newtown, totaling 20,000, 17,200 and 12,800 SF, respectively. The properties were sold to a privately held institutional investment group. Jeffrey Goldstein, Principal of Mediplex Property Group, commented on the transactions.

ACQUISITION: Gorjian Acquisitions acquires 7,500 SF freestanding medical office property in the Pittsburgh MSA. The property is occupied by Allegheny Health Network under a long-term single-tenant lease and operates as a primary care center. Eitan Kohanim, Adam Etessami and Ethan Kalaty helped source the opportunity and facilitate the transaction.
